FIFA Club World Cup 2025 Betting Tips and Preview

FIFA Club World Cup 2025

We have to admit, this is definitely a tournament that splits views, and always has. Non-European nations really seem to love it and see it as the absolute pinnacle of club football.

Whereas fans of European teams have always had a general apathy towards it, with even the players often seemingly not taking it seriously.

The Champions League (previously known as the European Cup) has always been seen as the top prize in world club football to European clubs, the Club World Cup seen as nothing much more than the European Super Cup.

But all that might be about to change. FIFA has seen the money that UEFA’s Champions League generates and realised they want a slice of that pie, with their only meaningful income coming previously courtesy of the FIFA World Cup.

And with the change of the old format to a new Champions League style group format (to be held every four seasons), it’s an exciting development.

The prize money on offer, alone, will see that clubs will try their best to win it.

The European teams involved will be paid £29.6M just for participating. If they win all their group games and then win the actual tournament, they will be paid £97M in total, and that makes this tournament worth winning, no matter what. It’s also why we think, as the years go by, it will become a huge success.

It also offers the tantalising prospect of top players – or players who used to be top players, at least – who have gone to the Saudi league and to the MLS, playing on the big stage once again, with the cream of Europe.

Lionel Messi will be one of them, as his team – Inter Miami – will be involved, however, Cristiano Ronaldo will not be there as his team – Al-Nassr – failed to qualify for it. Despite “receiving plenty of invitations” to play for a different team, Ronaldo has resisted their offers, which is a shame, because the tournament is only held once every four years and Ronaldo will now never play in this new format.

We are extremely excited about the potential of this competition, so let’s take a closer look at the teams involved and their odds…..

The record breaking 15 times Champions League winners, Real Madrid, are favourites to win the tournament, despite a really underwhelming season by their standards. Having being repeatedly beaten by Barcelona this season – including to the title – Madrid will be pleased to see the name of their old foes missing from this tournament.

PSG, treble winners (Ligue 1, Coupe de France and Champions League) are second favourites, which is, perhaps, a little surprising. BUT, you can’t rule out the strength of the Madrid team, or their capacity to win big trophies as a club.

Another team coming off an extremely disappointing season by their standards are Manchester City, who are third favourites. Perhaps the intended return of current Ballon d’Or holder, Rodri, will spark fire into them?

We believe a Harry Kane inspired Bayern side at 7/1 are too tasty to ignore.

Other Bets

There are plenty of other betting options to sink your teeth into than just the overall winner.

Selections such as “Group Winner”, “Winning Continent” and “To Reach the Semi Final” are all available and we will be doing a couple more of these.

It makes sense that if Bayern Munich have the good tournament that we believe they will, that Harry Kane will be amongst the goals. Kane is also a very tasty 7/1 to win the Golden Boot with several firms, including Bet365.

We also fancy a five team “To win group” acca. You can, of course, do singles on these but due to the short prices of them, we prefer to stick them all in an acca:

(All prices with Bet365)

Bayern Munich – Group C 1/2
Chelsea – Group D 4/7
Inter Milan – Group E 2/5
Borussia Dortmund – Group F 1/2
Real Madrid – Group H 1/6
