With temperatures currently predicted to be a freezing minus 2 in Bodo on Tuesday night, Manchester City are in for an extremely cold night.
City have never played a team from Norway before, so this is brand new territory for them. They do have Erling Haaland and Oscar Bobb amongst their ranks though, of course (if Bobb is still at City by this time, with him being linked elsewhere) who are both Norwegian and begin their careers in Norway, and can advise the rest of the team on what to expect.
City have started their Champions League campaign this time out with 4 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss from 6 games, while Bodo/Glimt have just 3 draws from their opening 6 games, with 3 defeats, so they will be desperate for points.
Match Betting Odds

Bodo/Glimt 6/1 (BetFred)
Draw 5/1 (Bet365)
Man City 2/5 (Ladbrokes)
Of course, a lot here depends on what type of team Pep Guardiola decides to put out. We believe he will go as strong as possible because he usually does in the Champions League. He will be desperate to finish in the top 8 and avoid the playoffs which City entered last season after finishing in a hugely disappointing 22nd place.
They do have injury problems, especially in defence, though.
We do believe City will win; even in the freezing cold, City’s players will have far too much for Bodo/Glimt. But 2/5 is barely backable odds, other than to put in an acca, or for real big hitters.

Bodo/Glimt 14/1 (BetFred)
Man City 2/1 (Bet365)
We much prefer this market. To get odds of 2/1 on City to beat a team who are vastly inferior to them, without conceding a goal, is very good odds. Of course, you could go the other way and go City to win and Both Teams To Score, currently trading at 11/8 on Bet365, but we can see City winning this 2-0 or 3-0, maybe even more. We can see a backlash from the Man Utd defeat. Guardiola will have been fuming with the way his team played and we can see City really turning it on.
With City’s defensive injury problems, you may think they will win but also concede, so don’t let us put you off that 11/8 if that is the way you think it will work out.
First Goalscorer (Selected)
Erling Haaland 11/5 (Bet365)
Omar Marmoush 11/2 (Ladbrokes)
Phil Foden 13/2 (Bet365)
Jeremy Doku 10/1 (Coral)
Savinho 10/1 (Bet365)
Rayan Cherki 11/1 (Ladbrokes)
Bernardo Silva 14/1 (BetFred)
Erling Haaland will be up for this game like no-one else. Not only is he going back to his own country to play for City for the first team, he got panned by critics after the Man Utd game. Unlike other City players, he will also be used to the harsh conditions in Norway. We take him to strike first here.
Unfortunately, BetFred are not running their “Double Delight & Hat-Trick Heaven” bonus in this game, or we would be all over it. Be sure to check here for future matches though, as it is a fantastic offer: https://www.betfred.com/promotion/sports-football-double-delight-hat-trick-heaven
To Score 2 or More Goals (Selected)
Erling Haaland 2/1 (Ladbrokes)
Omar Marmoush 8/1 (Coral)
Phil Foden 9/1 (Ladbrokes)
Jeremy Doku 22/1 (Coral)
We turn to Haaland once again here. He only has 1 goal in his last Manchester City games, which is an absolute famine for his standards. But that still means he has scored 20 goals in 22 Premier League games, plus 6 in 6 in the Champions League so far this season.
He is a goal machine, and on the few occasions he has gone through a lean spell in his career, a barrage of goals usually comes straight after. He will thrive playing in Norway again, and we see him getting 2 or 3 goals here. He is 15/2 with BetFred to get the hat-trick if that market interests you.
Injury News
Man City do have some injury worries, and long term ones at that. Mateo Kovacic has been out since October with an ankle injury and is due back in March. Josko Gvardiol is out for the season with a broken tibia, John Stones is out once again, with a thigh problem. Ruben Dias went down with a hamstring injury earlier this month and is not scheduled to be back until early February, while Oscar Bobb has been out with his own hamstring issue since December.
Max Alleyne was recalled from his loan spell at Watford to help alleviate these issues, but it is a very young defence at City at the moment.
