Man City vs Arsenal Betting Tips & Preview

The Premier League title could well be won or lost in this game. Arsenal lead the table by 6 points but second placed Manchester City have a game in hand. If Arsenal win this game you could say the title would almost be done. If City win, it would be another hammer blow to long tie leaders Arsenal, who look like they could bottle yet another title. A win for City would see them move just three points behind Arsenal with a game in hand.

Arsenal have not win the title since the 2003/2004 season, so it has been a long time coming. The last time Arsenal won a title, Max Dowman and Myles Lewis-Skelly weren’t even born, and Bukayo Saka was still in nappies.

Manchester City have won 6 titles in the last 8 seasons, they have the experience when it matters.

Man City 17/20 (Ladbrokes)
Draw 11/4 (Bet365)
Arsenal 31/10 (Bet365)

We are going for the Man City win, for several factors. Firstly, as we mentioned above, City have the experience of these title battles. That is often key in these title run ins.

Secondly, Arsenal have played two Champions League games over the past fortnight, as well as their two league and cup games. City have only played their two league and cup games, so they will be fresher.

Finally, form and momentum are huge things in football. City beat Arsenal at Wembley in the EFL Cup Final 2-0, and it was comfortable too. They then went on to batter Liverpool 4-0 in the FA Cup Quarter-Final before winning 3-0 at Chelsea in the Premier League.

Arsenal obviously lost the EFL final, then lost 2-1 at Championship side, Southampton, in the FA Cup Quarter-Final. They won 1-0 at Sporting in the Champions League, before promptly losing 2-1 at home to Bournemouth in the Premier League. They then stuttered through the second leg of the Champions League Quarter-Final, drawing 0-0 at home to Sporting. This spluttering form must be a huge concern to all Gunners fans. Take City to win.

As always when we do a first goalscorer bet, we look to BetFred. They do a great bonus; the Double Delight and Hat-trick Heaven bonus, when it is available, because if you correctly select the first goalscorer and he goes on to score again, you get double the odds, if he scores a third time, it is treble the odds.

There are some ones of interest here. Firstly, Erling Haaland hasn’t scored a Premier League goal in over two months now. He did get a hat-trick in the FA Cup against Liverpool and a goal in the Champions League against Real Madrid in March, but it is now just 3 goals in his last 13 Premier League goals which by his usual high standards is awful form for him. We do feel at some stage he will come alive, though, he is too good not to. He is still City’s top goalscorer this season with 33 in all competitions. Other players with an eye for goal are Foden (10), O’Reilly (9), Cherki (9), Semenyo (8).

We think Semenyo and Cherki are decent choices for Man City,

We do think Arsenal will score, even if they lose, and we all know how good they are with corners. This always makes Gabriel and William Saliba good options for a goal.

We always like this market with Bet365, because of the 2 Up promotion they offer, and the fact they often do better odds. You need to make sure you do it as a Bet Builder, though, or you will not get the 2 Up offer (if your team goes two goals ahead, they pay that part of the bet out as a winner, even if your team subsequently goes on to lose or draw).

We do think Man City will win but will probably concede too, so we are doing a smaller bet on this too. Our prediction would be 2-1 or 3-1.
